Al Baraka Bank announced the appointment of Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Omar Taha as Deputy General Manager, following approval by Al Baraka Bank’s Board of Directors and the Central Bank of Sudan.
Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Omar holds a Ph.D. in Economics and has over 30 years of banking experience, during which he has held various executive, leadership, and advisory positions. He began his career at Al-Tadhamun Islamic Bank, then moved to the Industrial Development Bank during its founding phase, before being recruited to work at Al-Baraka Bank in 2009 as Director of Risk Management.
He rose through the ranks until he was promoted in 2017 to Assistant General Manager, serving as Assistant General Manager for Support and Back Office, then Assistant General Manager for Branches, and finally Assistant General Manager for the Business Sector.
He also contributed, as part of the Al Baraka Banking Group team in Bahrain, to the establishment of the Bank for Finance and Development (BTI) in the Kingdom of Morocco in 2017.
This appointment comes as part of the bank’s efforts to support its leadership talent and strengthen its strategic plan for expansion and the development of institutional performance.
