In a step that reflects the social role of banking institutions, Al Baraka Sudanese Bank has provided important support to the health sector in Gezira State by supplying dialysis machines to the Gezira Center for Kidney Diseases and Surgery in Wad Madani.

The center’s management received a dialysis machine today as part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at supporting healthcare services and enhancing the capacity of medical institutions.

Dr. Habiballah Hago, a consultant in internal medicine and nephrology at the center, confirmed that these devices represent a real addition, especially given the increasing number of kidney failure patients and the rising cost of treatment and medical supplies. He noted that the center operates a large number of machines to serve patients from various states across Sudan.

For his part, the Director of Al Baraka Bank’s Wad Madani branch, Shihab Al-Din Osman Hassan, explained that this support comes as an extension of the bank’s CSR programs, with a focus on the health sector as a priority, particularly in light of the economic conditions and challenges facing the healthcare system, which has been significantly affected by the war.

This support comes at a time when dialysis centers in Sudan are facing heavy pressure and a shortage of equipment and supplies, making such initiatives an important factor in improving services and easing patients’ suffering.

The initiative by Al Baraka Bank represents a model of partnership between the banking sector and the healthcare sector, contributing directly to strengthening kidney failure treatment services in Gezira State and supporting the continuity of medical care for patients.
